2018 Manning Cup STGC vs Cedar Grove

It was the opening match for St. George’s College and the objective was to start with a bang. That we did!

The playing conditions were relatively good with the field well grassed though uneven in areas.

Our opponent, Cedar Grove High was not very strong and they felt the wrath of the Georgians who wanted to make a statement.

We controlled the game entirely and really attacked at will. By the end of the first half, the score was 6-1 in favor of the Georgians. Defensively, we looked good the only blemish being our custodian failing to hold on to a hard shot that came directly at him.

We made a few changes in the second half which lifted the quality our play. However, we were only able to score twice in the second half.

In the end, the score ended 8-1 to the Georgians with striker Chantomoi Taylor scoring a hat trick.

So, the objective going forward is to rapidly step up in all departments but especially in finishing more clinically.

We next play Cumberland High this Saturday.
