The long anticipated redevelopment of the front entrance to St. George’s College is about to start. The ground breaking ceremony took place on Friday, 9 February, 2018.
The entrance will have a very modern look with an upgraded parking lot and an environmental pleasing appearance. This is possible because of the generous donation from Florida businessman and a member of the STGC Class of 1959, Phillip Wong. He has donated J$20 million to complete the work. It is expected to be completed in 4-6 weeks. The Executive Project Managers are Wayne Wray and Lyndon Latore. They are mandated to ensure that the project is completed within budget and on time.
At the ceremony, Archbishop Kenneth Richards thanked all that made this important venture possible. He blessed the site and was part of the ceremonial ‘breaking the ground’.
Phillip Wong responded that he was very happy to be able to contribute to redevelopment of St. George’s College and that he he very eager to see the complete work. Principal Mrs. Margaret Campbell thanked all for coming. She thanked Mr. Wong for his very generous donation.
We look forward to this new face of the school.
